About The Position

The General Maintenance Worker performs a variety of tasks involving the general maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair of government buildings, premises, and varied equipment. This role is open to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers. All positions are onsite, unless otherwise stated.

Requirements

  • Minimum of (8) Years of Residential or Commercial Carpentry Experience and High School Diploma/GED, and (active) CLASS C Driver’s License.
  • OR Minimum of (4) Years of Residential or Commercial Carpentry Experience GED, High School Diploma/GED, Construction or Trade Certification, and (active) CLASS C Driver’s License.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a background check.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Remove, Install, and/or Repair Drywall.
  • Replacement of insulation.
  • Remove, Install, and/or Repair Doors, Locks, and Windows and associated components.
  • Remove, Install, and/or Repair Floors (Carpet, tile, laminate, vinyl plank, hardwood, etc.).
  • Remove, Install, and/or Repair of faucets, P-Traps, and toilets.
  • Repair broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage.
  • Remove, Install, and/or Repair various building and/or infrastructure equipment.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges.
  • Fix potential or existing safety hazards to avoid community injury.
  • Replace light bulbs, broken/missing outlets, and stained/missing ceiling tiles.
  • Perform various woodworking and concrete patching tasks.
  • Perform basic carpentry repairs and handle basic hand and power tools.
  • Complete the daily execution of service order tickets/log.
  • Shall be responsible for safety of contractor personnel and both contractor and Government owned equipment.
  • Shall maintain records for accountability and to an audit standard.
  • Shall support excellence in customer service and deliver excellent customer service both to internal and external customer while having the ability to work collaboratively to build professional working relationships with colleagues, coworkers, and customers.
  • Shall identify safety concerns to Supervisor and other required stakeholders (DOD, ARMY, OSHA, ANSI, other industry identified).
  • Shall assist in maintaining accurate files and provide documentation to Government Lead when requested.
  • Shall provide and assist with required monthly data to Supervisor for a monthly report/tracking matrix of all related matters.
  • Shall make sure that all administrative functions/paperwork is in order relative to receipt documentation, work orders, or internal paperwork are accomplished on time and in the required format.
  • Shall be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe worksite while performing or conducting job duties and be attentive to detail.
  • Shall support the mission, vision, values, and goals of the US ARMY.
  • Other duties as assigned.
