About The Position

This role is for a Warehouse Teammate/Driver who thrives on providing excellent customer experience, is safety and service-oriented, and possesses the attention to detail necessary for accurate order fulfillment. The position involves both warehouse duties and driving responsibilities. In the warehouse, you will be responsible for counting, verifying, and receiving incoming vendor shipments and customer return material. You will stock and maintain the warehouse, and pick, document, and pack customer orders. You will handle shipping discrepancies, identify nonstock, special-order, and damaged material, and complete necessary documentation for third-party shipments. You will also load and unload trucks, operate warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely, and inform supervisors of stock depletions or discrepancies. Maintaining warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety is crucial, as is assisting co-workers and performing all job functions in accordance with safety standards and completing assigned training. As a driver, you will operate trucks safely and in compliance with company rules and regulations to various destinations. This includes loading the truck at the Profit Center, securing the load properly, and ensuring necessary unloading equipment is available. You will understand shipping documents, review them for accuracy, and unload the correct merchandise at the destination, obtaining signatures and collecting payments for cash sales. You will resolve shipping discrepancies with customers, load trucks with merchandise from other locations, and provide sales leads. Daily truck inspections and reporting of mechanical issues are required, along with completing the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report for vehicles over 10,001 lbs. GVWR if defects are found. You will also remove keys at the end of the workday and complete assigned training.

Requirements

  • Be able to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs.
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Possess a proper and valid driver’s license.
  • Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy.
  • Be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and again at least every two years while employed and performing this job function.
  • 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Counting, verifying, and receiving incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
  • Stocking and maintaining the warehouse.
  • Picking, documenting, and packing customer orders.
  • Handling shipping discrepancies.
  • Identifying nonstock, special-order, and damaged material and storing them in proper warehouse locations.
  • Completing necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third-party carrier.
  • Loading and unloading trucks.
  • Operating warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Informing immediate supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable merchandise.
  • Ensuring security and controls are in place to protect Profit Center assets.
  • Maintaining warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety.
  • Assisting co-workers in servicing customers.
  • Performing all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards.
  • Successfully completing required safety and compliance training programs.
  • Operating trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations.
  • Loading the truck at the Profit Center with Hajoca merchandise to be delivered.
  • Securing the load properly.
  • Ensuring that the necessary equipment to safely unload the merchandise is available.
  • Understanding the shipping documents associated with the merchandise for each delivery and having accurate directions to each delivery destination.
  • Reviewing shipping documentation and ensuring order accuracy.
  • Unloading correct merchandise from the truck and placing it where the receiving party wants it.
  • Obtaining legible signatures for all merchandise delivered.
  • Collecting and securing outstanding payments for all cash sale deliveries.
  • Working with customers at the delivery site to resolve shipping discrepancies quickly and accurately.
  • Loading the truck at other locations with merchandise.
  • Providing sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses.
  • Inspecting the truck and required parts and accessories to determine safe operating condition prior to departure.
  • Keeping truck clean of debris in cab and body.
  • Advising management of any mechanical problems with the truck.
  • Completing the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report when driving a delivery vehicle with a gross vehicle weight (GVWR) of 10,001 lbs. or more if a defect or deficiency is found.
  • Removing keys from the truck and storing keys in the approved location at the end of the workday.
