About The Position

Prime Meats is hiring a Warehouse Supervisor to oversee warehouse operations and personnel. The position reports directly to the Branch Manager and focuses on preparing cross docks and local routes for departure, maintaining accurate labeling and inventory records, coordinating with sales and production, and supporting communication between shifts. The supervisor mentors team members, analyzes operational data to identify efficiencies and cost savings, and carries out supervisory duties in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including hiring, training, assigning, and evaluating employees. The role also oversees warehouse cleanliness, security, and temperature control in accordance with HACCP parameters. It includes monitoring warehouse equipment, product turnover and dates, reviewing HACCP and storage forms, coordinating and documenting product transfers, and completing reception and return records. Work takes place in a fast-paced industrial machinery and cold storage environment.

Requirements

At least 2 years of personnel management experience.
Warehouse or inventory control experience.
Planning, organizing, professional written and oral communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Availability to work different shifts as necessary and occasional to frequent overtime.
Ability to communicate in English and Spanish.
Ability to withstand cold storage temperatures for extended periods.
Ability to use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
Experience using forklifts, manual pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and a 2-wheeler dolly.

Responsibilities

Supervise warehouse activities and warehouse personnel.
Ensure cross docks and local routes are ready before departure.
Check completed skids to ensure cases are labeled accurately and identify mislabeling.
Report pending items for appropriate inventory adjustments.
Maintain communication with the day shift supervisor so shifts can support one another.
Mentor team members and facilitate their professional development.
Generate data and provide analysis related to improved efficiencies, cost savings, and increased sales.
Interview, hire, train, plan, assign, and direct employee work, and appraise performance.
Coordinate with sales regarding pending and special orders.
Ensure cleanliness, security, and temperature control in the freezer, cooler, and receiving cooler meet HACCP parameters.
Monitor or report on the condition and functionality of warehouse equipment.
Monitor SKU pack and expiration dates, higher-turnover products, and aging American products, among other items.
Review HACCP and storage forms, including shellfish collection, temperature control, sanitation, and thermometer calibration.
Coordinate product transfers to and from production and complete transfer registrations.
Complete reception and return records, registration forms, and return authorizations.
