About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the warehouse team for their shift, ensuring that each required task is executed and conducted properly and safely. The Warehouse Supervisor is also responsible for anticipating and troubleshooting issues as they arise and managing the performance of warehouse leads and associates on their shift with little guidance; using all information available and collaborating with other stakeholders as needed. This role follows a night shift schedule, working from 5:30 PM to 4:30 AM with designated days off on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Computer proficiency to execute transactions and enter counts/corrections
  • Ability to use handheld data logging equipment
  • Must have supervised at least 10-15 employees
  • Must have 2+ years of warehouse experience in a leadership role
  • Employees must be familiar with and become certified to use all P.I.T equipment utilized at the facility within 90 days of employment
  • General high school degree, or equivalent, (e.g. GED)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise core warehouse functions, ensuring compliance with standard procedures and maintaining organization and safety.
  • Oversee receiving activities, ensuring accuracy, product integrity, and dock maintenance.
  • Manage WMS compliance from receipt through putaway.
  • Adapt plans and communicate changes effectively to the team.
  • Communicate variances or issues immediately to stakeholders and establish follow-up timelines.
  • Conduct audits of receiving and putaway processes, providing feedback for growth and development.
  • Assess efficiency of receiving activities and work to improve workflow.
  • Ensure full utilization of WMS for product moves to and from production/shipping.
  • Verify production needs and provide guidance on correct product.
  • Communicate changes to production requirements to the warehouse team in a timely manner.
  • Ensure warehouse drop list is utilized to pull product for the production floor.
  • Ensure product is placed in the correct quantity and location on the floor per WMS.
  • Uphold standard procedures for staging product in coolers and freezers.
  • Read boxing call-out sheets and distinguish meats assigned to meals.
  • Ensure team is making progress against task lists.
  • Collaborate with production management to problem-solve when warehouse responsibilities impact production efficiency.
  • Conduct end-of-shift walkthroughs to ensure clean-up duties are completed and items are returned to designated locations.
  • Conduct audits of storage to ensure putback process adherence.
  • Conduct check of pallet shipping sheets and admin shipping lists to verify documentation.
  • Coordinate with logistics providers to manage pick-ups and accurate loading for outbounds.
  • Ensure standard processes for tagging, storage, and loading of outbound pallets are followed.
  • Verify accuracy of special out-bounds and ensure documentation is uploaded per SOP.
  • Audit load sheets completed by loaders for accuracy.
  • Communicate remaining doors for pick-up and ensure corresponding BOLs are completed and uploaded.
  • Log all trailer pick-ups in pallet shipping sheets and ensure upload to file.
  • Ensure hourly dock checks are completed and escalate any issues.
  • Lead the warehouse team on their shift, adhering to safety procedures and fostering a "safety first" environment.
  • Develop an environment conducive to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Communicate job expectations clearly and build departmental standards for performance.
  • Manage attendance reports and follow up on assigned points and coaching.
  • Conduct rotational check-ins with team members.
  • Problem-solve with team leads and associates when issues arise.
  • Ensure immediate and long-term solutions are in place to prevent future occurrences.
  • Escalate issues and resolutions for idea sharing with other shifts and plants.
  • Ensure all warehouse associates are properly trained to safely move materials and in standard operating procedures.
  • Audit P.I.T. checklists for the department.
  • Ensure all warehouse associates are using WMS, driving accuracy and efficiency daily.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for warehouse leads and associates.
  • Coach through positive reinforcement or constructive feedback and maintain records.
  • Develop team leads to effectively oversee daily routines.
  • Work with the warehouse manager to manage scheduling and time off requests.
  • Manage coordination with other departments for scheduled deliveries, pick-ups, and discrepancies.
  • Serve as shift-level point of contact for logistics providers and other departments.
  • Execute shift handoff, communicating with both warehouse team and other departments.
  • Recommend and assist in implementing operating procedures and promote continuous improvement.
  • Follow and enforce facility GMPs and Safety policies.
  • Support company efforts to maintain food safety systems (SQF), quality programs, and HCOS.
