About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the warehouse team for their shift, ensuring that each required task is executed and conducted properly and safely. The Warehouse Supervisor is also responsible for anticipating and troubleshooting issues as they arise and managing the performance of warehouse leads and associates on their shift with little guidance; using all information available and collaborating with other stakeholders as needed. This role follows a night shift schedule, working from 5:30 PM to 4:30 AM with designated days off on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Computer proficiency to execute transactions and enter counts/corrections
  • Ability to use handheld data logging equipment
  • Must have supervised at least 10-15 employees
  • Must have 2+ years of warehouse experience in a leadership role
  • General high school degree, or equivalent (e.g. GED)
  • Employees must be familiar with and become certified to use all P.I.T equipment utilized at the facility within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision of Core Warehouse Functions: Ensure compliance with standard procedures, maintain organization of warehouse spaces, and promote a safe workplace.
  • Receiving: Monitor receiving activities for accuracy, product integrity, and dock maintenance. Escalate facility or equipment issues to Maintenance. Ensure WMS compliance from receipt through putaway. Adapt plans and communicate changes effectively. Communicate variances immediately and establish follow-up timelines for root cause analysis. Conduct audits of receiving and putaway processes. Provide feedback to team members. Assess and improve efficiency of receiving activities.
  • Issuing Product to Production: Ensure full utilization of WMS for product moves. Verify production needs and provide guidance on correct product. Stay abreast of changes to products required for production. Communicate changes to the warehouse team. Ensure warehouse drop list is utilized to pull product for the production floor. Ensure product is placed in the correct quantity and location. Uphold standard procedures for staging product in coolers and freezers. Read boxing call-out sheets to clarify for the team. Ensure team is making progress against task list. Collaborate with production management to problem solve. Conduct end-of-shift walkthroughs and document recap.
  • Shipping: Conduct checks of pallet shipping sheets and admin shipping lists. Coordinate with logistics providers to manage pick-ups and loading. Ensure standard processes for tagging, storage, and loading of outbound pallets are followed. Verify special out-bounds for accuracy. Audit load sheets. Communicate remaining doors for pick-up. Ensure BOLs are completed and uploaded. Log all trailer pick-ups. Ensure hourly dock checks are completed. Escalate issues to logistics and/or manager.
  • Supervision of Warehouse Personnel: Lead the warehouse team on their shift. Adhere to safety procedures and foster a "safety first" environment. Develop an environment conducive to teamwork and collaboration. Communicate job expectations clearly and build departmental standards for performance. Manage attendance reports and follow up on assigned points and coaching. Conduct rotational check-ins with team members. Problem-solve issues with the team. Ensure immediate and long-term solutions are in place. Share ideas with other shifts and plants. Ensure associates are trained to safely move materials and use WMS. Audit team during daily interactions. Ensure associates are trained in SOPs. Audit P.I.T. checklists. Conduct performance evaluations. Coach through positive reinforcement or constructive feedback. Develop team leads. Manage scheduling and time off requests.
  • Communication and Coordination: Manage coordination with other departments for scheduled deliveries, pick-ups, and discrepancies. Serve as shift-level point of contact for logistics providers and other departments. Execute shift handoff. Recommend and assist in implementing operating procedures and promote continuous improvement.
  • General Responsibilities: Follow facility GMPs and Safety policies. Support food safety system (SQF) and quality programs. Ensure all areas of warehouse responsibilities score at or above established standards.
