About The Position

The Warehouse & Ops Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the warehouse & ops team for their shift, ensuring that each required task is executed and conducted properly and safely. The Warehouse & Ops Supervisor is also responsible for anticipating and troubleshooting issues as they arise and managing the performance of warehouse & ops leads and warehouse associates on their shift; using all information available and collaborating with other stakeholders as needed. This role follows a 2nd shift schedule, working from 3:30 PM to 12:30 AM, with designated days off on Tuesday & Wednesday.

Requirements

  • General high school degree, or equivalent (e.g. GED)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Computer proficiency to execute transactions and enter counts/corrections as required
  • Ability to use handheld data logging equipment
  • Must have supervised at least 5-10 employees
  • Must have 2+ years of warehouse experience in a leadership role
  • Employees must be familiar with and become certified to use all Powered Industrial Truck equipment utilized at the facility within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise core warehouse functions, ensuring compliance with standard procedures and maintaining organization of all drop zone and warehouse spaces.
  • Ensure full utilization of WMS for product moves, familiarize with trackers and inventory items, and stay abreast of communications regarding product changes.
  • Ensure warehouse drop list is utilized to pull product for the production floor, and that product is placed in the correct quantity and location.
  • Uphold standard procedures for staging product in coolers and freezers, read boxing call-out sheets, and work with warehouse lead to ensure progress against task list.
  • Collaborate with production management to problem solve when warehouse responsibilities impact production efficiency.
  • Conduct end-of-shift walkthroughs to ensure cleanup duties are completed and all items are returned to designated locations before leaving.
  • Conduct audits of storage to ensure putback process is adhered to by the team.
  • Lead the warehouse team on their shift, adhering to safety procedures and fostering a "safety first" work environment.
  • Develop an environment conducive to teamwork and collaboration, communicate job expectations clearly, and build departmental standards for performance.
  • Manage attendance reports, follow up on assigned points and coaching, and conduct rotational check-ins with team members.
  • Problem-solve when issues arise, ensure immediate and long-term solutions are put in place, and escalate issues and resolutions for idea sharing.
  • Ensure all warehouse associates are properly trained to safely move materials and in standard operating procedures.
  • Audit P.I.T. checklists to ensure equipment has had a pre-shift operational check.
  • Ensure all warehouse associates are using WMS, driving accuracy and efficiency daily.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for warehouse leads and associates in a detailed and timely manner.
  • Coach through positive reinforcement or constructive feedback and maintain records of coaching actions.
  • Develop team leads to effectively oversee the daily routines of their assigned team members.
  • Work with Inbound/Outbound Superintendent to manage scheduling and time off requests.
  • Act as the main liaison between Warehouse and Production during active shifts.
  • Ensure smooth and well-communicated shift handoffs between Warehouse and Production.
  • Escalate and resolve delays, inventory gaps, or system discrepancies impacting production readiness or warehouse efficiency.
  • Recommend and assist in implementing operating procedures and promote continuous improvement.
  • Follow facility GMPs and Safety policies, and enforce them throughout the facility.
  • Support efforts to maintain food safety systems (SQF) and quality programs.
