About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the efficient operation of their shift, ensuring proper manpower utilization, adherence to standard operating procedures, training and motivating the crew, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment. This role involves supervisory responsibility for material handlers (packers), selectors, forklift operators, and order pullers. The supervisor will partner with management to oversee daily outbound and inbound processes, maintain associate relations through regular meetings, and provide coaching and development to warehouse associates. Key duties include monitoring work for policy and safety compliance, issuing discipline when necessary, interpreting company policies, enforcing safety and security regulations, managing labor hours and supplies within budget, preparing work schedules, and communicating with sales, purchasing, and inventory control departments. The role also involves spot-checking orders for accuracy and quality, pulling or double-checking critical care orders, inspecting material handling equipment daily, and participating in warehouse operations as needed. Other duties may include reviewing metrics, team/warehouse output, and performance based on KPIs and departmental goals.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-year operations/warehouse experience in shipping and receiving perishable products, and/or a combination of education and industry experience.
  • Ability to supervise, motivate, and train hourly employees.
  • Able to solve problems independently and effectively articulate and communicate information.
  • Ability to reject product with inferior quality on inbound.
  • Ability to enforce all policies and procedures related to shipping and receiving.
  • Ability to enforce compliance on all safety policies.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily outbound and inbound processes on the dock and in the coolers, ensuring preferred work methods are followed.
  • Supervise daily processes in the warehouse.
  • Maintain associate relations through regular department or pre-shift meetings and ongoing interactions.
  • Review, coach, and develop warehouse associates.
  • Monitor work, adherence to policy, and safety requirements, issuing discipline when necessary.
  • Interpret company policies for employees, enforce safety and security regulations, and hold daily pre-shift meetings.
  • Manage labor hours and consumable supplies within budget.
  • Prepare work schedules.
  • Communicate with and to sales, purchasing, and inventory control.
  • Spot check orders for accuracy and quality.
  • Pull critical care orders or double-check them for quality and accuracy.
  • Inspect material handling equipment daily for safe operations and coordinate required repairs.
  • Participate in warehouse operations as needed, such as pulling orders, loading, and opening/closing duties.
  • Perform other lawful duties as assigned, including reviewing metrics, team/warehouse output, and performance based on KPIs and departmental goals.
