Requirements

  • Advanced computer proficiency, including frequent use of inventory management systems, work order platforms, spreadsheets, and database-driven applications.
  • Strong data entry skills with demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage large volumes of transactions.
  • Knowledge of inventory control methods, electronic recordkeeping, and reporting processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) or comparable software.
  • Ability to analyze inventory data, identify trends, investigate discrepancies, and support decision-making through accurate reporting.
  • Knowledge of Housing Authority policies, purchasing procedures, and accountability requirements.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply operating procedures, policies, and technical documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks in a data-driven work environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with sensitive operational data.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, and the public.
  • Commitment to safety practices and proper use of equipment and supplies.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Five (5) years of experience in warehouse and inventory control
  • Five (5) years of supervisory experience
  • Must hold a valid Texas Driver's License and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record. May operate Authority vehicle while on Housing Authority business.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking materials and equipment.
  • Performs extensive computer-based work, including high-volume data entry, inventory transactions, and reconciliation within computerized inventory and work order systems.
  • Reviews, verifies, and enters purchase orders, requisitions, invoices, delivery tickets, and inventory adjustments with a high level of accuracy.
  • Maintains real-time inventory records and ensures alignment between physical inventory and electronic systems.
  • Develops, implements, and enforces standardized procedures for inventory control, data entry, recordkeeping, and system documentation.
  • Generates and maintains inventory, usage, and accountability reports to support management review, audits, and purchasing controls.
  • Performs periodic and special inventory counts; investigates discrepancies and documents corrective actions.
  • Responds to internal requests by researching inventory data, availability, usage history, and delivery timelines using computerized systems.
  • Assists with work order data entry, dispatch coordination, and tracking of materials issued to maintenance operations.
  • Ensures adequate stock levels of materials, tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE), using system-generated forecasts and usage trends.
  • Maintains orderly digital files, logs, and documentation to support compliance, reporting, and record retention requirements.
  • Maintains order, cleanliness, safety, and organization of warehouse facilities.
  • Coordinates deliveries, pickups, and distribution of materials to Authority sites; provides technical guidance on proper stocking and data tracking.
  • Trains warehouse staff on inventory software, data entry standards, documentation procedures, and accountability practices.
  • Ensures compliance with Housing Authority policies, purchasing procedures, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
