About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor II supervises the timely receipt, stocking, order filling, or shipment of merchandise in a distribution center. The role may include supervising employees who operate rolling stock or automated equipment. The supervisor plans daily production and staffing, monitors operational and quality reports, supports employee development and safety, and handles employee performance and personnel matters in partnership with relevant departments.

Requirements

At least two years of supervisory experience.
Understanding of inventory accounting.
Knowledge of specific inbound or outbound functions within a distribution center.
Strong attention to detail.
Skills needed to assist employees with conflict resolution and one-to-one communication.
Good oral and written communication skills, including interviewing skills.
Computer skills with warehouse management systems, Word, Excel, and payroll/personnel systems such as KRONOS.
Ability to move physically throughout the distribution center to monitor merchandise flow.
Some heavy lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and kneeling may be required to assist employees.

Responsibilities

Review WMS reports and notify WMS personnel about shutdowns or other system failures.
Use Standard Operating Procedures to resolve and correct problems, and communicate issues to the Inbound/Outbound Manager.
Review reports to determine daily department staffing levels and review staffing plans with the Inbound/Outbound Manager.
Develop continuity in the use of the Labor Transfer pay program.
Conduct weekly and monthly staffing reviews with the Inbound/Outbound Manager.
Partner with the Training Department to monitor new employee development tracking.
Plan daily production goals.
Use the Productivity Improvement Plan process to identify areas for improvement.
Review quality measurements and report status to the Inbound/Outbound Manager.
Maintain employee records daily.
Support safety programs intended to reduce or eliminate employee injuries.
Conduct annual employee reviews and merit increase evaluations.
Interview and select candidates in partnership with Human Resources.
Conduct counseling sessions and dismiss employees in applicable situations.
