About The Position

The Warehouse Specialist selects products and loads trucks, moving products between the loading dock and warehouse and throughout the warehouse. The role may involve working in dry, refrigerated, perishable, freezer, or other warehouse areas. McLane provides freezer suits, hats, and gloves for work in freezer areas. The position uses reach trucks and pallet jacks to select, pull, sort, and stack products, and may require hand-stacking products when items are off balance or in the wrong location. The specialist reviews documents and records information, verifies product quantity, identity, availability, and condition, shrink-wraps and labels outgoing orders, removes shrink wrap from incoming orders, and cleans the work area. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be able to perform accurate visual inspections.
• Be able to repeatedly lift 50 pounds or more.
• Read, write, and understand English sufficiently to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely, including understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and role-related communications.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of distribution warehouse experience, including operation of a reach truck, pallet jack, and forklift; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Select products and load trucks, moving product between the loading dock and warehouse and within the warehouse.
• Work in various warehouse areas, which may include Dry, Refrigerated, Perishables, and Freezer.
• Review documents and record information; verify product quantity, identity, availability, and condition.
• Operate a reach truck and pallet jack to select, pull, sort, and stack products within the warehouse and dock.
• Hand-stack products when items are off balance or in the wrong location.
• Shrink-wrap and label outgoing orders and remove shrink wrap from incoming orders.
• Clean the work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
