About The Position

Vertical Cold Storage is seeking a Warehouse Specialist to provide accurate, timely service through cross-training and performing a wide range of warehouse duties. The role involves receiving, storing, inventorying, preparing, and shipping products; operating powered industrial vehicles; maintaining equipment and inventory records; and supporting warehouse operations and safety. The position requires working in a freezer or refrigerator environment and meeting attendance requirements.

Requirements

Prior warehouse or distribution experience is desired.
Strong math skills to count and multiply accurately.
Ability to use a motorized pallet jack.
Ability to stand and walk regularly for 8 or more hours in a day.
Ability to work in a freezer or refrigerator environment.
Ability to frequently lift, push, or pull up to 60 pounds.
Ability to frequently bend, twist, stoop, grip, climb or balance, and reach with hands and arms.

Nice To Haves

Prior use of high-reach and other motorized equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Verify received and shipped items by checking identifying information, inspecting condition, and recording counts or measurements according to established procedures.
Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, and recording inventory locations.
Prepare products for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, loading, and securing them according to procedures.
Record units shipped using defined processes.
Operate powered industrial vehicles, which may include high-reach equipment, power jacks, and dock stockers.
Maintain powered-equipment certifications through safe work practices and adherence to procedures.
Inspect material-handling equipment before use, follow operating procedures, and request repairs when needed.
Use handheld scanners and vehicle-mounted units to record pallet and case locations and maintain accurate inventory control.
Monitor case condition and pallet integrity and report substandard or out-of-specification items to supervision.
Apply labels to cases or loads according to customer specifications.
Stack, unstack, restack, wrap, and unwrap product pallets and cases according to customer specifications.
Insert or remove dividers between cases as instructed.
Perform general housekeeping, including sweeping and emptying garbage.
Contribute to team efforts by completing related tasks as needed and communicating positively and effectively with the team.
Meet attendance requirements.
Stretch-wrap pallets manually or using a powered machine.
Maintain a safe working environment by following safety rules, being aware of surroundings, and using machines only when trained.
Support duties assigned by warehouse supervision to assist facility operations.
Perform other duties as business necessitates.
