About The Position

Material Handlers/Powered Equipment Operators support the movement of product throughout the facility using forklifts, jack lifts, high lifts, and powered industrial trucks. The role supports safe, high-quality food production and requires meeting specific certifications during the qualification period. It can be physically demanding and requires good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail. Employees must work their scheduled shift and may be required to work overtime depending on production demands. Additional essential functions may apply to specific jobs, and other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Have good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Be able to perform continuous or repetitive movements, including grasping, pinching, and flexing and extending the arms.
• Be able to stand on concrete or platforms for up to a 12-hour shift.
• Be able to work around animal blood and/or carcass parts, in cold areas of approximately 20–40 degrees and/or warm areas over 100 degrees, and in wet and humid conditions.
• Be able to work while wearing a hard hat, hearing and eye protection, and steel-toed safety shoes; work in noisy environments using personal protective equipment; and work with sanitation and cleaning chemicals and strong odors.
• Be able to climb and move on ladders, steps, stairways, walkways, and platforms; bend, stoop, and twist repetitively; and walk long distances.
• May need certification to operate various pieces of equipment.
• Some positions may require repetitive overhead lifting up to 30 lbs, single lifts of objects weighing up to 60 lbs, or lifting with mechanical assistance.
• Have close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
