About The Position

Porters work as part of a team to preserve a clean and tidy environment throughout C&S facilities, supporting a safe and prideful work environment and the delivery of high-quality products to customers. The role performs custodial and janitorial work throughout the warehouse and its offices, including employee break areas, windows, and restrooms. It also involves housekeeping, spill cleanup, waste collection, and occasional use of material handling equipment to move products so areas can be cleaned.

The position is located in North East, Maryland, pays $18 per hour, and is listed for first shift, with a 9 a.m. start until finished. Work environments may include dry grocery areas at approximately 50°–90°F, refrigerated areas at approximately 28°–60°F, and frozen areas at approximately -20°–0°F. Paid training is provided.

Requirements

• Safe handling of sharp objects, including box-cutting tools.
• General Equivalency Diploma or High School Diploma is listed among the qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain a clean and safe work environment by acting as a custodian or janitor.
• Clean the warehouse, including office spaces, employee break areas, windows, and restrooms.
• Maintain housekeeping by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing, and waxing floors.
• Occasionally pull products from pick slots with an electric pallet jack, clean with a scrubber, and return the products.
• Tend to spills, including damaged product, oil, and grease.
• Collect plastic wrap, shredded paper, and empty boxes for proper disposal.
• Follow material handling equipment safe operating procedures.
• Safely lift varying case weights, shapes, and heights as needed.
