About The Position

The Warehouse Porter/Custodian helps maintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment throughout C&S Wholesale Grocers’ facilities. The role performs custodial and janitorial work across the warehouse and associated spaces, including offices, employee break areas, windows, and restrooms. It also supports warehouse cleanliness by managing spills and waste, maintaining floors, and occasionally moving product to clean pick slots. The position is paid $19.00 per hour and works the 2nd shift, from 6:30 PM to 5:00 AM, with days to be determined. The work environment may include grocery dry-goods areas at approximately 50°–90°. Paid training is provided.

General Equivalency Diploma (General Studies) or High School Diploma (General Studies) is listed among the qualifications.
Ability and willingness to follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures.
Ability to safely handle sharp objects, including box-cutting tools.
Ability to perform frequent lifting of products weighing 1–60 pounds or more, including lifting from floor level to overhead.
Ability to stand, bend, pull, lift, pivot, and walk on various surfaces for much of the shift.
Ability to work on multiple levels of varying height.

Responsibilities

Provide and maintain a clean and safe work environment by performing custodial and janitorial duties.
Clean the warehouse, including office spaces, employee break areas, windows, and restrooms.
Maintain housekeeping by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing, and waxing floors.
Occasionally use an electric pallet jack to pull product from pick slots, clean with a scrubber, and return the product.
Tend to spills, including damaged product, oil, and grease.
Collect plastic wrap, shredded paper, and empty boxes for proper disposal.
Follow safe operating procedures for material handling equipment.
Safely lift products of varying weights, shapes, and heights.
