About The Position

Warehouse Porters work as part of a team to maintain a clean and tidy environment throughout C&S facilities, supporting a safe and prideful workplace and the delivery of high-quality products. This role performs custodial and janitorial work across warehouse and office areas, maintains floors and housekeeping, handles spills and waste, and may occasionally move product to clean pick slots. The position is based at 500 North Street, Windsor Locks, Connecticut, and pays $19.00 per hour. The first-shift schedule is Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, 8:00 AM–6:30 PM. The work environment may include grocery dry-goods areas at approximately 50°–90°.

Requirements

Attendance and initiative.
General Equivalency Diploma (General Studies) or High School Diploma (General Studies) listed among qualifications.
Productivity, quality, safety, and values.
Ability and willingness to follow material handling equipment safe operating procedures.
Ability to perform frequent lifting of products weighing 1–60 pounds or more, including lifting from floor to overhead.
Ability to stand, bend, pull, lift, and pivot for up to 90% of the shift; walk on various surfaces; work at multiple levels; and safely handle sharp objects such as box-cutting tools.

Responsibilities

Provide and maintain a clean and safe work environment by performing custodian and janitor duties.
Clean the warehouse, including office space, employee break areas, windows, and restrooms.
Maintain housekeeping by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing, and waxing floors.
Occasionally pull product from pick slots using an electric pallet jack, clean with a scrubber, and return the product.
Tend to spills, including damaged product, oil, and grease.
Collect plastic wrap, shredded paper, and empty boxes for proper disposal.
Follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures.
Safely lift items of varying case weight, shape, and height levels.
