About The Position

Whirlwind Steel is a metal building manufacturer that designs, fabricates, and delivers metal structures and related products. The company is seeking a hardworking, detail-oriented Warehouse Picker to pick accessories such as screws, bolts, and other components and prepare them for shipment. The role also includes cross-training as a Clips Operator, measuring and punching holes in heavy-duty clips for metal buildings according to customer specifications. The position requires physical stamina, accuracy, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to two years of warehouse experience preferred, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and follow work orders and instructions.
• Experience operating machinery or willingness to learn; training will be provided for clips-punching operations.
• Ability to regularly lift, pull, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of warehouse experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating machinery.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick and prepare accessories, including screws, bolts, and tape, based on customer shop orders.
• Verify that the correct quantities and types of accessories are selected and packaged for shipment.
• Cross-train to operate clips-punching machinery.
• Measure and punch clips according to customer specifications.
• Follow detailed work instructions to ensure the quality and accuracy of clips punching.
• Perform repetitive tasks precisely in a physically demanding environment.
• Safely handle heavy materials and equipment while following safety guidelines.
• Keep workstations organized, clean, and stocked with necessary materials.
• Report discrepancies or issues to supervisors and assist in resolving them.
• Collaborate with team members in warehouse and cable operations areas.
