Warehouse Person, Lakeland Non-refrigerated
About The Position
The Warehouse Person maintains the building’s appearance in accordance with Distribution’s Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures and helps ensure products are accessible for safe selection and delivery to stores. The role works with multiple groups to clean industrial equipment, tractor trailers, and facility floors. It also involves sorting recycling materials and helping reduce shrink by collecting damaged cases, sorting and repackaging products, and properly labeling cases. Work follows a Master Sanitation Schedule, and completed tasks are documented. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be able to work weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time.
- Obtain certification in pallet truck and forklift operations on or before the position’s start date.
- Be able to use cleaning chemicals and powered industrial equipment requiring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Be able to lift, carry, and stack product weighing 67 pounds for High Velocity, Low Velocity, and Return Center.
- Be able to stand, bend, stoop, and twist, and perform repetitive work for long periods.
- Operate a pallet truck or forklift without any part of the body exposed outside the operator compartment.
- Work under strict time requirements.
- Read, write, identify, and verify numbers.
- Interpret, understand, and follow instructions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the building’s appearance according to Distribution’s Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures.
- Help ensure products are accessible for safe selection and delivery to stores.
- Assist with cleaning industrial equipment, tractor trailers, and facility floors.
- Sort recycling materials.
- Collect damaged cases, sort and repackage products, and label cases to help reduce shrink.
- Follow the Master Sanitation Schedule and document completed tasks.
Benefits
- Holiday Bonus: 15 hours of pay in the first year of continuous employment; one week’s pay in the second year; and two weeks’ pay in subsequent years, subject to remaining employed through the bonus check issue date.
- Night differential of $0.75 per hour for associates regularly scheduled to work hours between midnight and 3:00 a.m., excluding shifts that end at midnight or begin at 3:00 a.m.
- Weekend differential of $2.00 per hour for hours worked from 12:00 a.m. Saturday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
