About The Position
Publix Super Markets is a leading privately-owned supermarket chain in the US, known for its financial stability, growth, community involvement, and commitment to diversity. As a Warehouse Selector, you will play a crucial role in stocking shelves across over 1,200 store locations. This position offers a unique opportunity to determine your own earnings based on your efficiency and accuracy, with the potential to earn above standard pay. The role is physically demanding, serving as a workout while you work, involving constant walking, lifting, bending, and stretching. You will use state-of-the-art technology to identify products and their locations in the warehouse, ensuring timely delivery to Publix stores.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be able to work a rotating schedule which includes some weekends and holidays.
- Be able to work fluctuating shifts, when needed.
- Be able to select, lift, carry, and stack product weighing 67 pounds for high velocity and low velocity.
- Be able to stand, bend, stoop, twist, and do repetitive work for long periods of time.
- Be able to operate a pallet truck or forklift without any part of the body exposed outside of the operator compartment.
- Obtain certification in pallet truck and forklift operations (on or before their start date in the position).
- Read, write, and identify and verify numbers.
- Interpret, understand, and follow instructions.
- Pass a Physical Agility Test (before the start date in the position), as applicable.
Responsibilities
- Pull products ordered by Publix stores.
- Place products onto pallets.
- Wrap finished orders.
- Prepare orders for truck delivery.
- Use technology to identify ordered products and their locations.
- Perform job duties efficiently, accurately, and safely.
