About The Position
Farwest Steel Corporation is hiring a full-time, onsite Warehouse Person in Stockton, California. The role safely and accurately fills orders using stock material or processed parts; loads and unloads trucks and rail cars; assists machine operators; and operates warehouse machines and equipment to serve customer needs. The position also supports sales staff with warehouse and inventory information. The schedule is Monday through Friday on the day shift. The wage is $19.00 to $29.25, depending on experience. The role involves maintaining safe and efficient warehouse operations, preparing materials and parts for delivery, supporting customers and sales staff, and monitoring tools and equipment to promote safe operation and minimize downtime.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of warehouse functions and equipment operation.
- Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English.
- Ability to work in a team environment and treat employees and customers with respect, courtesy, and tact.
- Ability to perform routine office support, understand written and oral instructions, and make mathematical calculations.
Responsibilities
- Pull material, fill orders, and prepare material for delivery, emphasizing safety, accuracy, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Keep orders filled to support on-time deliveries.
- Move material from trucks and railcars and restock racks using company procedures and equipment to protect people and material.
- Track material and heat numbers for certification when possible, and rotate and organize material so it remains accessible.
- Assist machine operators and prepare parts for packaging and delivery according to customer requirements and safe-transport practices.
- Operate warehouse machines and equipment and drive trucks around the bays.
- Perform required maintenance and safety duties, attend safety and production meetings, and monitor tools and equipment for safe operation and minimal downtime.
- Assist will-call customers by filling and loading their material professionally.
- Assist sales staff with warehouse and inventory questions and issues.
