About The Position

Manitou Group is hiring Warehouse Packers at its Belvidere, Illinois location. The role includes packing and labeling products, maintaining packaging quality, meeting productivity and quality standards, and keeping packing stations clean and organized. Packers may be cross-trained in other warehouse areas as needed. The position has two levels: Warehouse Packer I and Warehouse Packer II, with Level II employees performing independent quality audits, resolving minor issues, suggesting improvements, troubleshooting errors, maintaining accuracy with minimal supervision, and providing feedback to Level I employees. Compensation is $18.00 to $19.00, based on experience. Travel requirements are 0%. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Requirements

Warehouse Packer I: 0–1 year of experience in a warehouse, fulfillment, or packaging role.
Warehouse Packer I: experience handling basic packaging materials such as boxes, tape, and packing materials.
Warehouse Packer I: exposure to quality-control checks, with limited independent decision-making.
Warehouse Packer II: 2–4 years of experience in a similar role.
Warehouse Packer II: prior experience handling quality-control responsibilities.
Warehouse Packer II: ability to train entry-level employees on proper packaging techniques.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds using safe lifting requirements.
Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Pack products efficiently to maximize box space and reduce shipping costs while maintaining packaging integrity.
Mark and label finished packages correctly to help prevent shipping errors.
Perform quality checks, record errors, inspect parts for damage, identify shortages or incorrect parts, and use quality-control forms.
Meet or exceed daily productivity and quality standards.
Record daily productivity on progress control boards in accordance with lean philosophy.
Maintain cleanliness and 5S standards at packing stations.
Cross-train in other warehouse areas as needed.
Follow company safety programs and policies, including safe lifting practices.
For Warehouse Packer II: perform quality audits independently and resolve minor issues.
For Warehouse Packer II: suggest improvements to packaging efficiency and quality control.
For Warehouse Packer II: help troubleshoot packaging errors or missing items.
For Warehouse Packer II: maintain high accuracy with minimal supervision.
For Warehouse Packer II: provide Level I employees feedback on packaging best practices.
