About The Position

A. M. Castle & Co. is hiring a Warehouse Operator to perform a variety of warehouse duties, including filling and checking customer orders, moving materials, loading and unloading shipments, and general material handling. The operator uses necessary equipment to store and move products throughout the warehouse. This position works under immediate supervision and relies on instructions and established guidelines. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Compensation is $19–$20 per hour, plus a $1 shift differential, and the position is bonus eligible.

Requirements

Basic measurement competency.
Basic math competency.
Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in a warehouse environment.
Strong work ethic.
Ability to perform the stated physical activities, including standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.

Responsibilities

Load and unload trucks efficiently.
Perform material movement tasks for order filling, receiving, and loading.
Safely operate assigned power equipment to move materials and meet order requirements, including crown trucks, Raymond side-loaders, overhead cranes, and forklifts.
Select, fill, and package orders according to customer requirements.
Attach bundle tags to material being shipped and stage the material for shipment.
Notice and report equipment defects or excessive wear and tear.
May set up and perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
