About The Position

The Operations Manager reports to the LOGISTEED-America, Inc. Director of Operations. This position requires excellent leadership skills along with the ability to monitor workflow in a fast-paced distribution operation, to oversee coaching and counseling of supervisors, and associates and have the ability to mentor and lead a diverse team to success. Additionally, the role involves communicating and interacting with the Director of Operations, team members, and Customers in a productive and professional manner, leading daily operations teams to achieve established key performance indicators (KPIs), and maintaining inventory accuracy by established target inventory discrepancy ratios. The role also requires the ability to read and comprehend SOPs, work instructions, emails, and documents; measure and count accurately; write legibly; and follow established procedures to meet or exceed safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years fast-paced logistics industry or manufacturing environment experience, mining or construction equipment industry experience preferred.
  • 3 years supervisor experience
  • Warehouse/Distribution/Manufacturing/Logistics work experience
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Equivalent work experience will be considered
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Long-term planning to create initiatives that further the company’s overall goals
  • Coordinating different teams to foster exchange of ideas and provide cross-team learning opportunities to ensure necessary operational results
  • Analyze and improve organizational process and workflow, employee and space requirements, and equipment layout; implement changes
  • Auditing all operations to ensure processes are followed according to standard work sheet
  • Ensuring associates have appropriate tools to perform their assigned duties
  • Managing assigned area to meet manpower requirements, equipment maintenance, work flow prioritization and daily scheduling
  • Meeting established standard operating procedures and productivity goals, safety and quality standards
  • Responsible for all department managers and supervisors, with review/approval responsibility for all operations employees
  • Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends
  • Develop operations systems by determining product handling storage requirements; develop, implement, enforce, evaluate policies and procedures; develop processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, utilization of inventory management systems including WMS, Gemba Management, shipping
  • Communicate customer issues with operations team; devise ways of improving the customer experience including resolving problems and complaints
  • Work closely with GM management team to set, communicate, and/or implement policies, procedures, systems; follow through with implementation via all conduits
  • Serve as primary point of contact when there is customer issues related to equipment, quality, customer service, or accidents/mishaps on-site
  • Manage relationships with key operations vendors
  • Track vendor service levels
  • General knowledge of Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations and compliance requirements, with the ability to support and respond to routine FTZ-related matters.
  • Communicating effectively between Director of Operations and their team.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Assist in the communicating of operating policies and/or issues at department meetings
  • Provide professional and responsive customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Provide regular operational reports and participate in customer meetings to review performance, discuss issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Communicate with safety department to ensure all processes remain compliant with OSHA, health and safety regulations, and other governmental regulations
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations, and ensuring adherence to housekeeping activities
  • Comply with all federal, state, local, OSHA, and company safety requirements.
  • Review work areas and recommend corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Monitor the pre-use inspections and basic operator maintenance of material-handling equipment.
  • Support management in maintaining warehouse and facility security.
  • Manage and oversee the safe loading, unloading, and movement of heavy equipment and materials using large-capacity forklifts in compliance with safety standards.
  • Identifying financial improvements and cost savings, and implementing changes to achieve them
  • Conducting and tracking assigned asset management, budgeting, forecasting of assets and materials, managing company assets, ensuring regulatory compliance for fixed and tangible assets
  • Sustain job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
