The Management in Training - Operations (MIT) Program is a six-month, entry-level, hands-on training program based in a distribution warehouse. Trainees receive guidance, support, and resources to learn about the swimming pool supply, irrigation, and landscape distribution industry. Training begins onsite in January 2027 at SCP Distributors in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. After training is completed in May, trainees are required to relocate out of state, with company-provided assistance. The program provides experience across distribution center operations, management, and purchasing. It also includes observing experienced employees, shadowing contractors, builders, service and maintenance workers, and retail store customers, and attending classroom training at the EDGEucation Center in Plano, Texas. Classroom topics include operations, financials, leadership, human capital management, and operating systems. Trainees present to senior-level management at the end of the program. Graduates may apply for available Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager roles nationwide. The position requires travel 25% of the time and the ability to work in a distribution warehouse environment. The role involves maneuvering heavy machinery, such as pallet jacks and forklifts, and lifting products weighing up to 75 pounds. The position is safety-sensitive. Compensation is stated as $28.85 per hour for specified states and a full-time schedule; relocation or cost-of-living adjustments may also be available.
