This role is responsible for the proper maintenance and repair of machinery. The Warehouse Maintenance Tech will reassemble machines after repair or maintenance, start machines and observe their operation to ensure efficiency and detect problems, and inspect or test damaged machine parts. They will lubricate or apply adhesives to machines and install, replace, or change machine parts. Additionally, they will dismantle machines for repair, record production and maintenance information, and read work orders to determine repair needs. The role involves setting up and operating machines, collaborating with others on repairs, and managing inventory and requisitions for parts and supplies. Transporting machine parts, tools, and equipment, collecting and discarding worn parts, and cleaning machines are also key duties. This role also involves conducting regular inspections of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as forklifts, conveyor systems, and pallet jacks, maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, and diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues. Repairing or replacing faulty components, testing repaired equipment, and ensuring MHE is maintained to safety standards are crucial. The role also requires troubleshooting equipment failures, providing root cause analysis, and researching potential warranty and repeat failures for continuous improvement. Coordinating with vendors and managing Purchase Orders for maintenance/repair activities is also part of the responsibilities.
