About The Position
The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role focused on building upkeep. They will have great physical endurance to cover a large space. A keen eye for detail and diligence are also imperative in custodial maintenance jobs. Background Check & Drug Test Required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Problems-solving skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to enter and maneuver in confined spaces
- Willingness to comply with company guidelines in reference to appropriate attire
- Willingness to work overtime upon request in order to complete such tasks associated with the company
Responsibilities
- Clean supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces
- Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets
- Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g. soap)
- Wipe mirrors and windows
- Report major damages
- Undertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs etc.)
- Determine proper storage methods, identification and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors and physical capabilities of facilities
- Keep accurate records on the use and/or damage of stock and stock handling equipment
- Examine and inspect items for wear or defects prior to use; reporting any damage to supervisors
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment
