About The Position

Under general supervision, the Lumper focuses on loading and unloading merchandise according to established safety, performance, and accuracy standards. The role includes checking container information and safety procedures before unloading, sorting and palletizing cases by style, size, and color, and preparing pallets to specified standards. The Lumper maintains a safe, clean, neat, and orderly work environment and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to understand and operate a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to complete assignments accurately.
• Ability to work various shifts, including evenings or weekends, to complete objectives or attend meetings.
• Strong resistance to a cold environment.
• Ability to operate equipment, including various electrical tools, safely, cleanly, and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Verify container information against the execution report and check trailer chocking, glad hand locking, and cone procedures before unloading.
• Manually unload containers and separate cases by style, size, and color, placing each group on a separate pallet.
• Build and stage pallets to the correct tie-high standard specified on the execution report.
• Identify case quantities, determine whether pallets are ready for shrink wrapping, and shrink-wrap staged pallets.
• Maintain a safe, clean, neat, and orderly work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
