About The Position

This position is responsible for various warehouse operations including operating a lift truck, performing routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, moving controls to drive battery-powered lift trucks and transport materials, and manually loading or unloading materials. The role also involves unloading products from inbound carriers, verifying identification and count, inspecting product condition, and placing products in storage. Additionally, the position includes receiving and reading preload orders, filling orders by picking product, staging product, inspecting and loading trucks, and using scanning devices and computers. Truck loaders inspect trailers, count units, move products into trailers, arrange products according to guidelines, and secure loads for travel. The role requires reliable attendance, adherence to safety standards, and performing other assigned duties.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as receivers, invoices, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to read and write simple sentences.

Ability to maintain a level of production that meets or exceeds the established guidelines.

Properly count, document or scan the number of units as needed by the function that is being performed.
Ability to verify paperwork necessary to ensure customer is receiving correct product.

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
One to two years related experience.
Basic scanner technology.
Valid State Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

Operates a lift truck by driving backwards and twisting to be able to look in the direction of travel on a continual basis.
Operates a lift truck all shift.
Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment, such as cleaning or recharging batteries, and refers defects or repairs to supervisor/ maintenance.
Moves controls to drive battery-powered lift trucks and transport materials between loading, unloading, processing, and storage areas.
Moves levers and controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams and swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
Positions lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and secure material or products for transport to designated areas.
Manually loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, or lifting devices.
Reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
Unloads products from inbound carriers (truck and rail cars).
Verifies that the product received is identified and counted accurately.
Inspects condition of all received product.
Moves and places product safely and securely in its proper storage location.
Receives and reads preload orders.
Fills orders by accurately picking product from storage and staging that product on a spot utilizing stacking guidelines.
Inspects and loads trucks and arranges the products with the cube of the trailer according to recommended loading practices and guidelines.
Uses scanning devise and computer as needed to perform tasks.
Checks printout for shortages, over-counts and incorrect model numbers.
Corrects shortages, over-counts and incorrect models where possible.
Inspects trailers before loading products.
Counts units on preload spot and compares with shipping documents.
Moves products from the preload spot, and directly from storage when required, into the trailer.
Arranges the products within the cube of the trailer according to recommended loading practices and guidelines.
Properly secures the load for travel.
Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
