Requirements

  • Technical training in plant equipment
  • Previous Forklift experience or valid Forklift license is required, otherwise, must successfully complete through in-house training program
  • Solid work ethic, self-motivation and effective communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work on a 12 hour rotating shift
  • Understands and is able to apply quality requirements, GMPs, HAACP, Food safety, and the Occupational Health & Safety Act along with an understanding of productivity and efficiency indicators and their impact

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in warehouse operations, in a team lead capacity preferred

Responsibilities

  • Communicate production needs/difficulties to maximize production efficiencies and minimize downtime and waste to achieve daily production targets while adhering to strict quality specifications
  • Examine and make recommendations on how to improve key processes
  • Understand the plan for the shift with true accuracy: what is being produced and for which consumer ensuring the highest standard of quality of the product(s) and quantity of each customer order, etc.
  • Evaluate staffing requirements frequently during the shift through task analysis and communicate with the shift supervisor
  • Keen attention to detail in order to complete all required paperwork and documentation as assigned without exception
  • Analyze and collect downtime data throughout the shift on an hourly basis, reporting findings and strategizing improvements.
  • Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting machinery with the operator and/or maintenance team
  • Properly train, coach, and develop team members to perform their assigned job duties
  • Foster and promote a safety focused culture and other values that align with the organization
  • Provide feedback and/or concerns to the management/supervisory team on areas of performance concerns, adherence to safety and quality protocols and procedures
  • Ensure all log sheets are completed properly and on time for the Production Supervisor (C1) to review and authorize
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspection on a weekly/daily basis on all canning warehouse machinery
  • Able to operate a Forklift to facilitate the transition of goods in and out of the canning warehouse
  • Other duties as may be assigned
