This role is responsible for managing the issuing of materials through reservations, counter service, and month-end procedures for mill and surface/underground departments. It ensures that receiving, inventory counts, and shipping of items are performed efficiently and accurately according to policies and regulations. The position involves leading and mentoring the team as required, with Warehouse Technicians and Runners reporting directly to this Warehouse Lead Hand.

Requirements

  • High-school graduation with related post-secondary training
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of shipping and warehouse procedures and regulations required
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate required
  • Must be able to operate forklifts or other equipment as required.
  • Highly organized with exception attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, growing work environment.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills together with an ability to facilitate commitment to a cooperative team effort.
  • Good communication skills, both orally and written with both internal and external contacts and the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required.
  • Good leadership skills are required.

  • Knowledge of mining equipment and parts preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate duties to ensure that material flows from warehouse to end users for all departments.
  • Stock is transferred to underground and/or other storage locations as required.
  • Manage daily reservations requests and escalate any shortages to buyer/expedite to follow up on delivery dates.
  • Cataloguing of spare parts and consumable items in SAP.
  • Coordinate stock transfers to warehouse locations.
  • Coordinate work for Warehouse Technicians and Runners as required.
  • Assist with all inventory counts as required.
  • Assist, when possible, with daily unloading of trucks with forklift and receiving items.
  • Coordinate repairs to be shipped out for repairs or warranty.
  • Recognizes areas of improvement and offers suggestions for continuous improvement.
  • Assist with special projects in the warehouse as required.
