About The Position

The 1st Shift Receiver receives goods from delivery trucks at the dock and transfers them to the receiving area. The role identifies items, validates quantities, and logs and issues materials to the stockroom, warehouse, or another designated location. The position is based in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and is listed at $18.00 per hour, with a 7:30 a.m. start time and an end time of “Finished.”

Requirements

Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.
Ability to operate a powered industrial vehicle (PIV).
Warehouse employees must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns used to warn of equipment movement, mechanical abnormalities, and similar risks.
Provide the most recent employment experience for the application to be considered complete.

Responsibilities

Check goods received against bills of lading or purchase orders.
Inspect goods for damage and expiration dates.
Identify and account for histamine products (seafood only).
Sort, count, and check received items.
Maintain required clerical records and complete housekeeping activities.
Operate warehouse equipment as needed to move goods to storage areas and place items in designated locations.
Identify damaged packaging and possible cross-contaminated products.
Perform returns.
Maintain and rotate the cooler and freezer (USDA only).
Perform inventory control (USDA only).
Perform other duties as assigned.
