About The Position

The Warehouse Fulfillment Specialist performs general warehouse and order-fulfillment activities, including selecting merchandise from pick lists, moving it from the sales floor to a staging area, verifying items and counts with a handheld scanner, and operating equipment. The role supports BJ’s digital initiatives, including BOPIC, Curbside, Express Pay, and Ship from Club, and requires meeting service-level agreements, productivity expectations, and performance goals.

The position also involves providing friendly member service, communicating inventory or equipment problems, supporting replenishment, securely packaging orders, processing returns, and maintaining an orderly and safe work area. The specialist follows club policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures and may work in other departments as needed.

Work is mostly spent moving continuously on hard surfaces, with frequent positioning to examine or scan merchandise. The job requires handling and lifting objects up to 50 pounds, and may require assistance to lift or move heavier or awkward objects. The environment is generally comfortable but may include moving machinery, loud equipment, temperature extremes when pulling refrigerated orders, and occasional exposure to approved cleaning agents.

Requirements

• Meet OMNI productivity expectations, including service-level agreements, performance metrics, and goals.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Ability to continuously lift objects up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to lift and move heavy or awkward objects weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance when required.
• Ability to move continuously on hard surfaces and frequently bend, climb, crawl, handle, pull, reach, stoop, and position oneself to examine or scan merchandise.

• Previous order-pulling experience.

Responsibilities

• Pull merchandise from pick lists and process member purchases in a fast, courteous, and friendly manner.
• Use handheld RF scanner devices to select orders from the sales floor and verify merchandise.
• Move merchandise from the sales floor to the staging area.
• Communicate inventory and equipment problems, as well as expired or short-dated items on pick lists.
• Coordinate with the club team when merchandise needs replenishment and, when possible, have items pulled from the reserve area to avoid sales-floor replenishment.
• Pick orders in a timely manner to meet productivity requirements, deadlines, service-level agreements, and performance metrics.
• Follow operational efficiency, process, productivity, and standard operating procedure requirements for BOPIC, Curbside, and Ship from Club.
• Take responsibility for individual performance and work with club leadership when metrics are not met.
• Securely package orders according to standard operating procedures.
• Keep the Ship from Club area neat, clean, and organized, including storage bins; perform housekeeping such as removing trash and cardboard.
• Handle damaged goods and spoiled products according to standard operating procedures.
• Process returns to the club and determine how to handle them, including through DDR or the Membership desk.
• Follow club policies and procedures, including dress code standards.
• Deliver service excellence, address and de-escalate member concerns, and help maintain a safe and positive environment.
• Support daily GOLD Member and Club Standards, including greeting, anticipating and appreciating members, and maintaining a clean and organized club environment.
• Attend work regularly and predictably, and perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
