About The Position

Warehouse forklift operators skillfully maneuver industrial powered equipment to help maintain a smooth, safe, and orderly process for moving products within Publix warehouses. They move cases and pallets and place them in assigned warehouse slots, transfer products from receiving docks to reserve locations, and replenish pick locations as selectors empty them. Operators rotate inventory by using the most dated inventory first, help keep the warehouse clean, and sweep out empty slots. They may occasionally fill in for warehouse selectors or other positions as business needs require. The listed responsibilities are not all-inclusive; additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time.
• Obtain certification in pallet truck and forklift operations on or before the start date in the position.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 67 pounds (85 pounds in the boxed meat/dairy warehouse).
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and twist.
• Ability to operate a pallet truck or forklift without any part of the body exposed outside the operator compartment.
• Ability to stack products of varying weights.
• Ability to work under strict time requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and identify and verify numbers.
• Ability to interpret, understand, and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate powered industrial equipment to move cases and pallets and place them in assigned warehouse slots.
• Move products from receiving docks to reserve locations.
• Replenish pick locations by pulling products from reserve locations as locations are emptied by warehouse selectors.
• Rotate inventory using the most dated inventory first.
• Help maintain a clean warehouse and sweep out empty slots.
• Occasionally fill in for warehouse selectors and other positions as business needs require.
