About The Position

We are seeking a Warehouse Distribution Member for Steelcase’s Hazleton Regional Distribution Center. The role supports safe, efficient, and accurate receiving, transport, storage, staging, loading, unloading, and shipment of custom-ordered office furniture, materials, finished goods, and component parts. Team members work together to meet safety, quality, productivity, and customer-service goals, and may work in different Distribution zones, departments, and areas based on business needs. The position involves operating forklifts, clamp trucks, gas or electric hilos, and other powered material-handling equipment, as well as using barcode scanners, computer terminals, and other electronic devices to track and process materials. The role requires a valid driver’s license, the ability to complete required equipment training and certification, and the physical ability to handle the lifting, movement, and extended periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing, and equipment operation described in the posting. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; extra hours and days may sometimes be required. Starting pay is $22.20 per hour, with scheduled wage progression up to $23.45 per hour. Pay is weekly, and full benefits are effective on the first day.

Requirements

Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to successfully complete required training and certification for powered industrial equipment.
Ability to safely operate or learn to operate forklifts, clamp trucks, hilos, and other material-handling equipment.
Ability to lift more than 100 lbs. occasionally, 50 lbs. frequently, and 20 lbs. constantly.
Ability to occasionally lift 35–50 lbs. from floor to waist and 50–80 lbs. from waist to shoulders.
Ability to push and pull loads of up to 100 lbs.
Ability to reach forward, laterally, and occasionally overhead.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and work from powered industrial equipment for extended periods.
Ability to transition between work assignments, zones, departments, or other Distribution areas based on business needs.
Must be organized and able to plan and execute material movement efficiently to prevent production or shipping delays.
Ability to follow safety procedures, work instructions, and verbal and written directions.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Responsibilities

Safely receive, move, store, stage, load, unload, and deliver materials, components, and finished goods throughout the distribution center.
Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, gas or electric hilos, and other powered material-handling equipment requiring an operator’s license.
Transport and position custom-ordered office furniture and materials in warehouse, staging, shipping, and trailer areas.
Follow bills of materials, shipping documents, production schedules, work instructions, and verbal or written directions.
Use barcode scanners, computer terminals, and other electronic devices to track and process materials and finished goods accurately.
Secure, band, straighten, and adjust loads as needed.
Complete daily equipment inspections and report malfunctions, damage, or safety concerns.
Support accurate and timely processing and shipment of customer orders.
Follow established safety procedures, work instructions, and material-handling practices.
Maintain focus on safety, quality, productivity, accuracy, and customer service.
Collaborate with other members and departments to meet operational and business goals.
Work in different Distribution zones, departments, and areas as business needs require.
