The CNC Mill Machinist sets up, operates, and maintains the processing of aerospace components on CNC Mills. This role encompasses all aspects of the machining process, including part setup, processing, geometric evaluation of finished products, tooling setup and evaluation, monitoring and troubleshooting, CNC program uploading, proofing, evaluating, troubleshooting, minor editing, and communicating issues or improvements to the programming department. The role also involves monitoring and performing preventative maintenance on the Mills for safe, accurate, and efficient utilization, running first and production runs of product, and maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Experience with CNC Mill setup, operation, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in part processing and geometric evaluation.
  • Skills in tooling setup, evaluation, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to upload, proof, evaluate, troubleshoot, and perform minor edits on CNC programs.
  • Experience in monitoring and performing preventative maintenance on machinery.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe working environment.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up, operates, and maintains the processing of aerospace components on CNC Mills.
  • Performs part setup, processing, and geometric evaluation of the finished product.
  • Handles tooling setup, evaluation, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Uploads, proofs/evaluates, troubleshoots, and performs minor edits on CNC programs.
  • Communicates any issues, concerns, or improvements with the programming department.
  • Monitors and performs preventative maintenance on the Mills for safe, accurate, and efficient utilization.
  • Runs first run and production run of product.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and SAFE working environment.
