About The Position

Dowding Industries is hiring a CNC Operator to produce machined parts by setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines. The role maintains quality and safety standards, keeps records, and maintains equipment and supplies. The position is for the 3rd shift, from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am.

Dowding Industries has manufactured metal stampings, fabrication, precision-machined components, and assemblies since 1965. It serves automotive, railcar, defense, and infrastructure sectors, using advanced processing methods and assembly technologies. Requirements

• Good knowledge of machine setup and operation.
• Good knowledge of blueprints and micrometers.
• Good knowledge of edits and G-codes.
• Basic knowledge of production materials.
• Experience operating an overhead crane.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up computerized machines to perform machine functions on work pieces.
• Input control instructions into machines.
• Replace worn-out machine tools with new ones.
• Take accurate measurements of work pieces and gauges for production.
• Carry out maintenance to keep machines in good condition.
• Operate three or more machines with little or no assistance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
