About The Position

The Warehouse Backup Driver works under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, Assistant Manager, or Team Leader. The role is responsible for unloading and loading trucks, picking and putting away tires and other products, and performing all duties and responsibilities of a Route Truck Driver I. The employee supports warehouse operations, company goals, and K&M values while working safely and maintaining an organized warehouse.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The warehouse is not climate controlled and may be cold in winter and hot in summer.

Requirements

• Read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Meet the minimum qualifications of Route Driver Level I.
• Have a valid driver's license and meet the job requirements of Route Truck Driver I.
• Work in a multitask environment and prioritize and organize effectively.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Communicate and express ideas effectively.
• Be able to learn tire knowledge.
• Have a friendly, helpful, positive attitude.
• Lift up to 75 pounds and lift 50 pounds on a continuous basis.
• Stand for extended periods.
• Safely operate a forklift, tire cart, pallet jack, and order picker.
• Learn and use scanning devices to accurately confirm tires and shipments.
• Work in a non-climate-controlled environment with cold winter and hot summer temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Unload semi-trailers and assist with loading semi-trailers and route trucks.
• Use provided equipment and tools safely and accurately to verify, pick, and put away tires and products.
• Keep tires and products in designated locations with tags facing out, and restock as needed.
• Work safely, including proper use of equipment seat belts and order-picker harnesses.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse.
• Load multi-warehouse transfer trucks and all route trucks.
• Perform all job duties and responsibilities of a Route Truck Driver I.
• Support the Warehouse Manager's decisions and company goals, and uphold K&M values.
• Receive loads by verifying product numbers and checking in shipments.
• Pick and prepare Amazon and Walmart orders for shipping.
• Perform other appropriate assigned duties.
