About The Position

The Warehouse Associate works in the Production department at The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center’s Old Pasadena Thrift Store. The role supports the store and Adult Rehabilitation Program by sorting and inspecting merchandise, directing products to the correct processing departments, and safely transporting materials. The associate follows Salvation Army policies and government safety regulations, maintains confidentiality as needed, and performs other duties assigned by management. The position is full-time, pays $18.57 per hour, and reports to the Store Manager. Store schedules are set by management to ensure coverage; the posting notes that part-time associates may work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Demonstrated competency in the relevant skill area through verifiable training and/or experience.
• Ability to read and write and to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist intermittently or continuously.
• Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks.
• Flexibility to work schedules determined by management to ensure adequate store coverage.

Responsibilities

• Sort products efficiently and properly according to Salvation Army policy.
• Inspect products for defects and damage as part of quality assurance.
• Identify products correctly and direct them to the proper department for processing.
• Collect merchandise from the distribution center and safely transport materials.
• Follow safety measures established by Salvation Army policy and government regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality as needed for operation of the program.
• Obtain written supervisor approval for any overtime, with the supervisor’s initials appearing on the timecard beside overtime hours.
• Perform other written or verbal duties assigned by the Production Manager, Administrator, or their designated representative.
