This position involves pulling totes and/or packages from a conveyor or pallet, verifying part numbers and quantities for shipment. The role requires confirming that all requested value-added services have been completed and preparing the unit load according to material handling requirements for the respective mode of transport. Responsibilities include preparing and completing the packing slip, shipment bill of lading/manifest, labeling, and any specialized documentation. The associate will select appropriate shipping containers and packing materials, print required documents or labels, package orders to prevent damage, and move completed orders to the conveyor or sort material to pallets. Confirmation of shipment in the computer system is also a key duty. The role may involve operating a shrink wrap machine, I-Pak machines, pallet jack, or forklift with required in-house certification. The position emphasizes meeting or exceeding internal and external customer expectations for quality, cost, and on-time delivery, while adhering to established quality goals and productivity targets. Maintaining acceptable time and attendance, being available for overtime, and demonstrating a positive, team-oriented attitude are crucial. The associate must contribute to the operations team by accepting other duties as required, working independently with minimal supervision, and maintaining a positive attitude focused on desired results. Ensuring a safe working environment by adhering to safety policies and notifying management of hazards is paramount. The role also supports daily warehouse department metrics and performs FOD (foreign object detection) and location maintenance to ensure 5S standards are maintained. Active cross-training in other areas is also required.
