Warehouse Associate Lead (Full-Time)

Galileo Learning•Hayward, CA
•Onsite

About The Position

The Warehouse Associate Lead owns the dock-to-distribution cycle for Galileo Learning’s warehouse operation. The role receives inbound raw goods and vendor-supplied partial kits, verifies accuracy and completeness, and coordinates materials for storage or in-house finishing. It also oversees accuracy-critical distribution and palletizing so completed kits reach school sites correctly and on time. The Lead works closely with the Supply Chain team and serves as the primary point of direction for seasonal temporary labor during peak distribution. The role is an important accuracy checkpoint in a complex, multi-product kit operation serving hundreds of school sites and partners. Success requires strong attention to detail, physical capability, and clear communication when directing others during high-volume periods. This is a full-time, non-exempt onsite position averaging 40 hours per week. Seasonal peak periods—including spring receiving, pre-camp distribution, and post-camp returns—require additional hours, including overtime, to meet delivery deadlines. The position is based at 2350 Davis Avenue, Hayward, California, and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in a warehouse, receiving, or distribution environment, with demonstrated ability to take ownership of a workflow.
  • Proficiency operating warehouse equipment, including forklifts, electric pickers, and pallet jacks.
  • Physical capability to unload and move boxes and stand for extended periods.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Ability to read English and work from packing lists and location labels across multiple sites simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to give clear, patient direction to seasonal temporary labor and adapt communication style to a changing work floor.
  • Experience informally leading, training, or directing temporary or seasonal labor.
  • Familiarity with computer-based inventory management systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in spoken Spanish.
  • Prior experience in a hyperseasonal or education-related operations environment.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process seasonal inbound shipments of raw goods in coordination with the Procurement Manager and expected delivery schedules.
  • Verify vendor-supplied partial kits against bills of materials (BOMs), confirm completeness and accuracy, and coordinate put-away or handoff for in-house finishing.
  • Promptly report discrepancies, shortages, or damaged goods to the Procurement Manager and Director.
  • Coordinate with the Inventory Coordinator after receiving and purchase-order processing to ensure materials are shelved and logged accurately in the inventory management system.
  • Use per-site packing lists to verify kit quantities and apply accurate location labels.
  • Direct seasonal temporary labor in physical box movement and palletizing according to site-specific packing requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Inventory Coordinator and Logistics Manager to confirm pallet counts for scheduled pickups.
  • Check pallet accuracy before outbound shipment, serving as a checkpoint between inventory pulling and final pallet verification by Quality Control (QC).
  • Supervise and direct seasonal temporary labor on physical distribution tasks during peak season.
  • Assign temporary labor tasks appropriate to workers’ training, limiting them to supervised physical box movement rather than independent equipment operation or accuracy-judgment tasks.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently to maintain accuracy and pace during high-volume palletizing periods.
  • Physically unload materials returned from camp sites at season’s end.
  • Support the QC Coordinator and Production team with initial sorting and staging of returned raw goods and electronics for testing.
  • Put away finished and processed materials after they are sorted, boxed, and cleared by QC.
  • Shelve finished kits and update their digital locations in the inventory management system after QC has processed and palletized them.
  • Assist the Inventory Coordinator with pulling kits for palletizing when available and not occupied with primary distribution duties; the Inventory Coordinator remains the primary puller.
