About The Position

Manual and clerical inventory support in processing and verifying merchandise/cartons. This role involves checking and inspecting cartons for accurate quantity and condition, preparing cartons for processing by affixing labels, packing, labeling, scanning, sorting, and routing. It also includes entering information into inventory systems, loading, unloading, and picking. The position requires preparing merchandise for distribution by checking, inspecting, and logging data, and taking necessary steps to prepare merchandise for inventory and distribution. Visual inspection of merchandise to determine disposition is also part of the role. Data entry into online systems and performing stock handling tasks such as packing, unpacking, banding, assembling, sorting, routing, and weighing merchandise are key responsibilities. Moving cartons manually or mechanically, picking, labeling, and scanning, and operating simple warehouse equipment are also expected. The role requires the ability to understand and follow instructions, use elementary arithmetic, and be familiar with contemporary merchandise processing equipment (like hand-held scanners), warehouse equipment, and inventory systems. The ability to learn computer processing systems, work efficiently, and determine prescribed steps to process problem cartons and resolve discrepancies is essential.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand and follow general and/or written instructions.
  • Involves the use of elementary arithmetic.
  • Familiarity with use of contemporary merchandise processing equipment (i.e. hand-held scanners)
  • Familiarity with use of warehouse equipment and inventory systems.
  • Ability to learn computer processing systems.
  • Ability to work efficiently
  • Ability to determine which prescribed steps to take to process problem cartons and to resolve identified discrepancies.
  • Frequent lifting of 0 - 30lbs.
  • Occasional lifting of 30 - 75lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Six months experience in the same or related tasks is preferable.
  • Must have an Achiever rating, or higher, on 2017 Performance Appraisal (for internal candidates).
  • Those with Policy Violations issued within the last 12 months will not be considered (for internal candidates).
  • Information regarding current family members working in the same facility location must be reported when submitting the application. Failure to do so will disqualify the Associate from consideration (for internal candidates).

Responsibilities

  • Prepares merchandise for distribution, including checking, inspecting, and logging data into inventory systems to reflect quantity and condition.
  • Takes necessary steps to prepare merchandise for inventory and distribution.
  • Inspects merchandise visually to determine disposition, as assigned.
  • Enters/logs appropriate data into on-line systems, as required.
  • Performs stock handling tasks such as packing, unpacking, banding, and assembling merchandise.
  • Sorts and routes merchandise.
  • Weighs merchandise.
  • Moves cartons from one location to another, either manually or mechanically.
  • Picks, labels, and scans, as required.
  • Operates simple warehouse equipment as necessary.
  • Performs other related manual tasks, as assigned.
