About The Position

Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments with Los Banos warehouses. Ensure a smooth and consistent operation so supplies and finished goods are distributed to proper departments/customers in an effective and efficient manner.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree with three plus years’ experience in Warehousing, Receiving, Inventory Control, or Materials Management in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others orally or in writing.
  • Must have experience in Microsoft Excel and Ross WMS system.
  • Must be familiar with the Food Safety Modernization Act when it comes to transporting goods both inbound and outbound.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of Receiving, Warehouse, and Material Handling operations, methods, and practices.
  • Must be able to become certified and maintain certification through an OSHA approved forklift certification and as a First Responder

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate work activities of employees in accordance with safety and security programs or activities.
  • Ensures materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures, including the oversee the rotation of inventories within the warehouses.
  • Review invoices, work orders, consumption reports, and demand forecasts to estimate peak delivery periods and to issue work assignments.
  • Respond to customers' or shippers' questions and complaints regarding storage and distribution.
  • Inspect physical conditions of warehouses, vehicles and equipment, and order testing, maintenance, repair, or replacement as necessary.
  • Develop and document standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or salvaging products or materials.
  • Monitors and measures Warehouse performance for accuracy of locator, receiving, reports, movement and storage of material and transfers.
  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
  • Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
  • Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
  • Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
  • Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
  • Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
  • Order in railcars and release railcars.
  • Make appointments for inbound and outbound trucks.
  • May need to load and unload trucks or railcars.
  • Examine shipments content and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
  • Makes appointments for inbound and outbound loads.
  • Helps with inventory counts and adjustments.
  • Helps train employees in the department, including new hires.
  • Other duties as assigned.
