Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in an administrative or clerical role, ideally within a health or community services setting
  • Competence with patient information systems or the ability to quickly learn SA Health's clinical platforms
  • Strong attention to detail in managing confidential patient records and documentation
  • Clear and professional communication skills when working with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary teams
  • The ability to manage competing priorities calmly in a hospital environment
  • Eligibility to work within SA Health, including satisfactory background screening

Responsibilities

  • Managing patient admissions, transfers, and discharge documentation accurately and promptly
  • Coordinating appointment scheduling and maintaining up-to-date patient records in clinical systems
  • Serving as a first point of contact for patients, families, and ward staff, directing enquiries appropriately
  • Supporting the ward team with general administrative tasks to keep daily operations running smoothly
