About The Position

The Pittsburgh Marriott City Center is seeking a part-time team member to support the Engineering Department with property maintenance, guest room improvements, and cosmetic repairs throughout the hotel. The role helps maintain guest rooms, public spaces, meeting areas, and back-of-house facilities. The posting describes hands-on work involving interior painting, drywall installation and repair, mudding, taping, sanding, wallpaper installation and removal, and general wall maintenance, alongside broader hotel maintenance duties.

Requirements

Ability to climb, read, stand, and walk, and routinely lift 25 to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to receive instructions and communicate progress on work assignments.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences, including supervisors, coworkers, and the public.

Responsibilities

Assist with preventative maintenance and complete work orders, including replacing ceiling tiles and light bulbs and patching vinyl.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance assignments, such as room care.
Assist with checking electrical systems, including air-conditioning controls, television sets, and lighting systems, and make minor repairs or replacements.
Assist with routine and major repairs to hotel equipment, including small appliances, kitchen and laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC, hand and power tools, and plumbing systems and fixtures.
Service the hotel pool, including adjusting chemicals, cleaning filters, completing maintenance request forms, and recording logs.
Maintain the building exterior and curb appeal, including snow removal, lawn care, painting, and gardening.
Refurbish furniture and fixtures in guest rooms, including cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters.
Paint and finish furniture and fixtures as needed.
Move furniture and fixtures throughout the building.
Respond courteously to guest questions, complaints, and requests to support guest satisfaction.
Follow attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
