About The Position

The Waitstaff/Server provides prompt, pleasant, and efficient service to community residents visiting dining rooms and activities. The role includes maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of dining rooms and waitstaff stations, watching for potential trip hazards, and helping ensure a safe, sanitary, and welcoming dining experience. Servers follow instructions to accommodate residents’ specific dietary needs when necessary and perform food-service, cleaning, and other dining-room duties as directed.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a safe and alert manner.
• Ability to take ownership of associate and resident safety.
• Must disclose medications that might impair safe or competent job performance.
• Passion for working with and around senior citizens.

Responsibilities

• Maintain standards of appearance, cleanliness, personal hygiene, and health.
• Protect the confidentiality of resident information.
• Provide a pleasant dining experience and follow instructions for residents’ dietary needs when necessary.
• Set up dining rooms according to hospitality and service standards.
• Obtain food and supplies for meal service as directed.
• Distribute and store clean dishes.
• Follow safe and sanitary food-handling practices for preparation, holding, and service.
• Assist with food preparation as directed.
• Clean dining rooms, kitchens, serving areas, cafeterias, and storerooms as directed.
• Mop designated floors as directed by a supervisor.
• Follow safety, loss-prevention, universal-precaution, and infection-control procedures.
• Perform other duties or fill in for other dining-room or waitstaff as requested.
• Work safely and alertly, and take ownership of personal and resident safety.
• Disclose medications that might impair the ability to perform the job safely or competently.
• Exhibit the CORE Values through servant leadership.
• Attend required community meetings and participate in Life Enrichment activities when able.
• Complete required courses in adherence with HRA University.
• Perform required duties promptly and on a regular, predictable basis.
• Learn how to report a missing person through the Safe Return program or equivalent.
• Learn fire-evacuation procedures.
• Help maintain a safe and secure environment for all community residents.
