VPK Teacher Assistant - Early Childhood

Requirements
- High School Diploma
- CDA, Early Childhood coursework, or active enrollment in ECE program
- Understanding of early childhood development
- Warm, patient, and team-oriented personality
- Ability to manage a classroom environment calmly and consistently
- Physically able to lift up to 35 lbs and actively engage with young children
- Ability to pass background screening and meet state requirements
- Alignment with the mission and values of a Christian school
Nice To Haves
- Minimum 2+ years of experience working with preschool-aged children
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities
- Support students with transitions, routines, and structured learning time
- Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment
- Help manage classroom behavior using positive guidance techniques
- Supervise students during playtime, meals, rest time, and outdoor activities
- Prepare instructional materials and classroom centers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom spaces
- Communicate respectfully with parents and staff
- Follow all licensing, safety, and school policies
- Model Christ-like character and professionalism at all times
