About The Position

Victory Montessori & Childcare Center is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. This position supports the Lead Early Childhood Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for young children. The Assistant Early Childhood Teacher works collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other staff members to support daily classroom routines, learning activities, supervision, and the overall care and well-being of children.

Requirements

  • Must meet applicable age and qualification requirements established by the Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) for the position and classroom assigned.
  • Must successfully complete all required background checks and fingerprinting.
  • Must obtain and maintain required training and certifications, including CPR, First Aid, Standard Precautions, and other training required by Colorado childcare licensing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with children, families, and coworkers.
  • Must be dependable, patient, flexible, and able to work collaboratively as part of a classroom team.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience working with young children in a childcare, preschool, Montessori, or similar setting preferred.
  • Montessori experience or training is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Teacher with implementing classroom activities and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
  • Provide attentive supervision and maintain the safety and well-being of children at all times.
  • Support children with daily routines, including meals and snacks, toileting/diapering as applicable, rest periods, transitions, and classroom activities.
  • Help prepare and maintain an organized, clean, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Model positive, respectful behavior and support age-appropriate social-emotional development.
  • Use positive and appropriate guidance techniques when supporting children's behavior.
  • Engage with children through play, conversation, reading, activities, and other learning experiences.
  • Assist with classroom setup, cleanup, sanitizing, and organization.
  • Maintain required child supervision, attendance, and classroom records as assigned.
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with families while directing significant classroom, developmental, or behavioral concerns to the Lead Teacher or Director as appropriate.
  • Follow all Victory Montessori policies and procedures and applicable Colorado childcare licensing requirements.
  • Participate in required staff meetings, professional development, and training.
  • Work cooperatively with the Lead Teacher, Director, and other Victory Montessori staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and employees.
  • Perform other duties reasonably related to the position as assigned.
