About The Position

GIART – Gothenburg International Auto & RoRo Terminal is establishing a new Vehicle Processing Centre (VPC) in Gothenburg and is seeking a VPC Manager. This role involves building, leading, and developing the VPC operation from start-up to steady-state performance. The VPC Manager will have full operational and people leadership responsibility, including designing workflows, building teams, implementing safety and quality standards, and ensuring customer-ready service delivery. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines operational execution with long-term capability building. Technical services to be established and managed include OEM maintenance programmes, vehicle detailing and PDI, battery replacement, tyre fitting, and accessory installation. GIART is part of the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Group, providing strong financial stability, industry expertise, and global reach, while maintaining a local, hands-on culture with short decision paths.

Requirements

  • Technical or automotive background through education and/or experience
  • Proven leadership experience, preferably in an operational or start-up environment
  • Strong understanding of health & safety and quality systems
  • Structured, pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset
  • Clear communicator who can engage both shop-floor teams and stakeholders
  • Proficient in MS Office and digital tools
  • Fluent in Swedish and English

Nice To Haves

  • Experience setting up or improving operational processes is a strong advantage

Responsibilities

  • Establish and build the VPC operation, including processes, routines and structure
  • Recruit, onboard, lead and develop technical teams and supervisors
  • Plan facility layout, equipment usage and workforce capacity
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental and OEM standards
  • Integrate VPC operations with terminal, vessel and cargo operations
  • Monitor and develop KPIs, productivity and cost control
  • Manage documentation, reporting and invoicing processes
  • Oversee fleet compliance, care and maintenance
  • Drive continuous improvement as operations scale and mature
  • Design workflows
  • Implement safety and quality standards
  • Ensure customer-ready service delivery
  • Manage OEM maintenance programmes
  • Manage vehicle detailing and PDI
  • Manage battery replacement, tyre fitting and accessory installation
