The Data team sits at the center of the firm’s work; conducting foundational analysis at the outset of engagements, providing ongoing monitoring and measurement, and delivering synthesized retrospectives that showcase our impact and surface future opportunities. We’re seeking a leader to drive this work forward; someone who can lead our polling and message testing analysis, keep clients informed of evolving attitudes, and help them continuously optimize their strategies. Our team is seeking a Vice President or Senior Vice President to join our Data & Analytics team in New York, NY or Washington, DC. This is a rare opportunity to help define how intelligence shapes strategy — translating social listening, reputation monitoring, and AI-powered insights into communications that move the needle for some of the world's most influential organizations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in social listening, reputation monitoring, digital intelligence, generative engine optimization (GEO), communications analytics, market research, or related fields. Prior agency experience a strong plus.
  • Direct client management experience. Experience with large organizations and multiple stakeholders is a plus.
  • Demonstrated fluency in social and digital listening platforms (e.g. Brandwatch, Meltwater, Sprinklr, or similar) and a proven ability to translate data and monitoring insights into strategic communications recommendations.
  • Familiarity with the evolving GEO landscape and enthusiasm for shaping how AI-driven discovery environments affect client reputation and visibility.
  • Experience managing and guiding junior talent.
  • Experience working with multiple clients at the same time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Creative, energetic, and possesses an entrepreneurial spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a senior strategic voice on social listening and digital intelligence, shaping how analysis insights are interpreted, packaged, and activated for clients. Leads listening and analytics teams to ensure outputs are translated into clear, compelling, and actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Plays a key role in shaping the client-facing outputs of terrAIn, Precision's proprietary Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) offering. Helps define what excellent GEO analysis looks like, ensuring findings are connected to meaningful communications strategy and told in ways that resonate with senior stakeholders.
  • Contributes to Precision's workflow and analysis for primary research, including design and methodology, partnering with internal teams and external vendors to ensure research outputs are rigorous, actionable, and connected to real communications challenges.
  • Leads Precision's approach to reputation analysis and monitoring, evolving the frameworks, workflows, and escalation protocols that give clients real-time visibility into their reputational landscape and enable rapid, informed response.
  • Refines the agency's philosophy and standards for strategic insights and intelligence reporting. Oversees how Precision translates data into actionable recommendations that drive communications activations, inform campaign strategy, and enhance client confidence. Aligns insights strategy with the agency's broader communications, marketing, and policy objectives.
  • Owns large client engagements, overseeing relationships with clients and partners, and running workstreams across monitoring, intelligence, and insights mandates.
  • Leads the structured resolution of complex, high-stakes challenges across clients and internal teams, bringing clarity to ambiguity, balancing strategic vision with executional detail, and leveraging deep knowledge of Precision's data capabilities to deliver innovative approaches that challenge conventional thinking.
  • Follows Precision client management processes. Ensures staff have the resources and support to exceed expectations and expand scopes. Ensures staff are delivering high quality work to clients. Keeps to the client budget.
  • Orchestrates cross-functional integration across data, strategic communications, creative, and paid media to deliver intelligence-driven work that advances client priorities. Serves as a central point of coordination and clarity, ensuring transparency, consistency, and adaptability as priorities evolve.
  • Keeps the internal team updated on changes and abreast of developments, leads productive internal meetings, clearly communicates deliverables and deadlines, and brings in other teams when needed.
  • Leads and manages mid-level staff through 1:1s, goal setting, feedback, and performance reviews; effectively manages teams during periods of change; fosters a high-morale, accountable culture; provides clear, constructive feedback across account teams; elevates issues to leadership.
  • Executes complex, multi-track intelligence projects from end-to-end with limited guidance and high-quality outputs. Anticipates shifts in client direction and scope; crafts clear work plans, delegates effectively, and oversees project budgets.
  • Owns and advances the firm's intelligence and insights strategy across high-impact, multi-channel initiatives. Sets the standard for translating social listening, reputation data, and GEO analysis, including outputs from terrAIn, into compelling strategic narratives that drive client outcomes.
  • Shapes and drives an innovation culture across Precision's data practice; anticipates future challenges and market shifts to design transformative solutions; leverages deep cross-functional and industry expertise to create new opportunities and strategic advantages; aligns innovation efforts with Precision's long-term vision and full range of capabilities.
  • Actively looks for new business opportunities within their network; leads pitches and presentations from brainstorm to delivery; drives organic growth by expanding client work and proposing new ideas; identifies ways to support firm marketing efforts.
