About The Position

Swell Media is seeking a hands-on retail commerce and Retail Media Networks (RMN) leader to guide strategy and execution for brands across third-party marketplaces and traditional retail ecommerce platforms. The role leads major client relationships, solves complex retail growth challenges, and mentors commerce and RMN specialists while working closely with teams responsible for DTC, social media, and go-to-market strategies. It is a player-coach position that combines strategic leadership with direct involvement in retail consoles, commerce audits, and automation testing. The VP oversees commerce and retail media strategy across Amazon, Walmart, Target, Kroger, Home Depot, and other retail environments. The role is accountable for commerce revenue growth, marketplace share, retail advertising efficiency, digital shelf visibility, buy-box health, inventory productivity, and unified strategies across first-party vendor and third-party seller models. It also connects retail media with broader business outcomes through analytics, incrementality testing, margin analysis, attribution, and omnichannel reporting. As the escalation point for difficult performance, catalog, and attribution issues, the VP diagnoses problems and develops paths forward. The leader manages and develops a hands-on team, building systems, playbooks, and training. The position is hybrid, with two days in the office and three days working from home, at one of the listed Swell office locations: Portsmouth, New Hampshire; St. Louis or Kansas City, Missouri; Minneapolis, Minnesota; or Dallas, Texas. Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants must be authorized to work permanently in the United States without employer sponsorship.
