About The Position

The Vice President of Sales & Revenue is responsible for developing and executing the company's sales strategy to drive revenue growth, expand market presence, and build lasting customer relationships. This role is accountable for leading the sales organization, aligning marketing initiatives with revenue objectives, strengthening pipeline management, and ensuring accountability to company revenue goals. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is eager to roll up their sleeves and lead by example when needed, thrives in a growth-oriented environment, proactively identifies opportunities for improvement, and builds scalable processes that drive consistent revenue performance. This individual serves as the leader of the company's revenue organization and maintains responsibility for sales performance, lead generation effectiveness, conference-driven revenue opportunities, forecasting, and overall revenue accountability. While not directly responsible for service delivery or client retention, this role works in close partnership with the VP of Operations, CEO, and executive leadership team to promote a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and revenue growth while ensuring alignment between sales, marketing, client experience, and long-term customer success.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in senior sales leadership roles with demonstrated success driving revenue growth and leading high-performing teams.

  • Experience managing conference, trade show, and event-based lead generation programs.
  • Demonstrated willingness to be hands-on and personally contribute to revenue generation when needed.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive sales leadership experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales management or executive leadership experience.
  • Experience leading quota-carrying sales teams.
  • Experience with CRM platforms, sales analytics, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Experience in self-storage, real estate, SaaS, technology-enabled services, franchise organizations, or related industries preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee a strategic sales plan that aligns with business goals and objectives.
  • Manage the sales team, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and coaching.
  • Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for sales activities, pipeline growth, and revenue targets
  • Hold team members accountable to established sales goals, activity metrics, CRM utilization, and performance expectations.
  • Foster strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to drive business growth, expand customer acquisition, increase market penetration, and identify opportunities for account growth.
  • Identify new market opportunities and lead expansion into new regions, verticals, and revenue channels.
  • Establish annual, quarterly, and monthly revenue objectives.
  • Drive revenue growth through new customer acquisition and strategic market expansion.
  • Identify strategic partnerships, referral relationships, and new revenue opportunities.
  • Lead pipeline generation efforts to ensure sufficient sales opportunities exist to support company revenue objectives.
  • Maintain an individual sales quota and personally contribute to revenue generation through direct prospecting, relationship development, and deal closing.
  • Lead by example through active participation in sales activities and customer engagement.
  • Recommend and administer sales compensation, commission, and incentive programs aligned with company objectives.
  • Partner with the VP of Operations to ensure every client interaction creates opportunities to strengthen relationships, expand service offerings, and drive cross-selling, upselling, and long-term revenue growth.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for CRM utilization, sales reporting, forecasting processes, and revenue performance management.
  • Ensure sales systems, reporting capabilities, and operational processes support company growth objectives.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics related to revenue generation, pipeline development, conversion rates, forecasting accuracy, and sales productivity.
  • Review pipeline health, identify risks to revenue attainment, and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
  • Ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, and process consistency across revenue-producing teams.
  • Partner with the CRM Specialist and Marketing team to improve reporting visibility, accountability, and operational effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue forecasts.
  • Ensure the accurate implementation, administration, and execution of client contracts.
  • Lead alignment between sales and marketing efforts to maximize lead generation, pipeline creation, and revenue growth.
  • Develop and execute outbound marketing and business development strategies that generate qualified leads, accelerate pipeline growth, and expand market penetration.
  • Establish lead qualification standards, lead routing expectations, and follow-up accountability measures.
  • Ensure marketing initiatives support revenue objectives and sales priorities.
  • Evaluate lead sources, campaign effectiveness, and customer acquisition performance.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop messaging, campaigns, event strategies, and promotional initiatives.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to marketing personnel while ensuring alignment with company growth objectives.
  • Contribute to overall company strategy and growth plans by participating in executive leadership discussions.
  • Forecast sales and revenue targets, providing regular updates to the executive team on progress and projections.
  • Create detailed reports and presentations on sales performance, revenue attainment, pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and market trends.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive positioning, and customer needs to inform business strategy and market positioning.
  • Evaluate, develop, and continuously improve sales processes, workflows, and operational infrastructure.
  • Partner with the VP of Operations and Marketing team to proactively identify operational gaps, process inefficiencies, and revenue growth opportunities, developing and executing strategic improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive leadership team to align strategic initiatives, drive operational excellence, and achieve revenue growth objectives.
  • Develop and manage the annual sales and marketing budget.
  • Evaluate the return on investment of sales, marketing, conference, and business development initiatives.
  • Partner with Finance and executive leadership to develop annual operating plans, budgets, and revenue and profitability forecasts, driving financial performance and long-term growth.
  • Identify, evaluate, and present strategic partnership opportunities to the CEO and Board to support long-term growth and business objectives.
  • Own the company's conference and trade show revenue strategy.
  • Develop annual event plans designed to maximize lead generation, pipeline creation, and revenue opportunities.
  • Establish event-specific lead generation goals, follow-up processes, conversion metrics, and ROI measurements.
  • Ensure timely lead qualification, assignment, and follow-up for all event-generated opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop and execute event messaging, sales campaigns, collateral, email marketing, social media initiatives, onsite marketing, and promotional strategies that generate qualified leads, increase brand awareness, and drive revenue growth.
  • Build and develop a high-performing sales and marketing organization, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including marketing, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment on goals and customer experience.
  • Mentor and coach direct reports, providing guidance on strategic selling, revenue generation, account development, and professional growth.
  • Identify and develop future sales leaders through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Create a culture of ownership, accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement throughout the revenue organization.
  • Partner closely with the VP of Operations to ensure a seamless transition from sales to service delivery and promote a consistent client experience throughout the customer lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Operations and CEO to foster a company-wide culture of sales awareness, customer focus, client retention, and growth.
  • Support retention and client success initiatives by ensuring customer expectations, service capabilities, and client needs are accurately represented throughout the sales process.
